Secret Behind Munir Courage

Figures for the year AD already entered 2009. That is, five years had passed the Munir case. But since his death, Munir's case now is still just hanging. The case was stopped on Pollycarpus as a suspect. This left a question mark for most people, is it possible Pollycarpus a self-regulate the crime? Once again, is it possible?

But, well, the question that we leave it to the parties authorized to answer it. For those of us currently the most important thing is what can we take from the late Munir's personal?Mainly, what's the secret behind Munir's courage in fighting for the oppressed? One is through this book.

Book by Meicky Shoreamanis Panggabean has a different perspective than other books about existing Munir. This book is more photographed Munir personality in daily life, ranging from childhood to adulthood, and his views on some issues of life.

'Nil nisi bonum De Mortuis', that's the sound of a Latin phrase, meaning that 'say it is only good for those who have died'. Apparently, the phrase does not apply to disandangkan on this book. In fact, this book is quite balanced in presenting the figure of the deceased Munir. The author not only photographing just the excess side of the figure Munir, but also the shortcomings. Therefore, this book can be described as a mirror Munir who described himself as such. Indeed, this is where actually the benefits of this book, because there are things that are most likely not known by the public about the figure of Munir.

There is one inherent characteristic of the mirror is Munir has been acknowledged by everyone, that is courage. Munir was known as someone who dared to anyone, not least in government (including the police and TNI). With the flag Kontras (Committee for Missing People and Victims of Violence) against a ruler who oppresses his people dhu'afa (read: weak), like the workers and peasants, as well as victims of kidnapping.Courage is what then makes himself voted as Man of the Year 1999 version of The Nation magazine and The Right Livelihood Award in Sweden (2000), as well as other awards.

The author of this book, Meicky Shoreamanis Panggabean, was a teacher and a former volunteer KontraS when Munir was still alive. Therefore, his writings reveal many things everyday Munir. Meicky easily interviewed Munir and the people closest to Munir as narasumbernya. This book is also much decorated some good exclusive interview with Munir and others associated with the simple things, which may have never written in any book before this.

For example, anyone who plays a role in Munir's life so he formed a phenomenal person. How the role of father-mother, his older brother, the environment, school, teacher, wife, children, and his friends form the personality of Munir. This implies that there were so many silent heroes (the unknown hero) in the life of Munir.

The book was inspired registering the personality Munir us to care for community life and courageous fight against injustice. Actually, Munir like us, have a sense of fear, but fear it dinalar, then defeated. "I have to stay calm despite fear ... to make everyone do not be afraid. Normal, as a person, you can be sure there is fear, and there is nobody who is not afraid, just that I found was trying to rationalize the fear ... "(p. 61).

In addition to the above view, there are interesting things from some other statements expressed Munir on other subjects. About love, for example, he said without love, people just live, not growing. Without love, people just simply moving, not developed. Let us refer to direct his next view about love, marriage, and marriage. "Marriage is not ideal, but something that comes its own and can not be avoided. Marriage comes when love and contractual joint to be found. Love and marriage is not a physical problem, but the truth in honesty find suitability. Ok, do not pray to be able to mate, but pray for the truth. Because there, love will be found "(pp. 80-81).

This book also features various views of the people to figure Munir, ranging from his mother, his sisters, colleagues, and his wife. Anisa, brother Munir, Munir told him about the nature of childhood, "Munir was not naughty, but if disturbed, he would not mind to fight. But the initiative never before ". (Hlm.92). Medium Jamal, Munir's brother, tells, "She's a clash of professional, not a fight at random. Clash was specific, he can not see something that is not true according to him. He was brave, no matter what, though not well-balanced clash. "(P. 93).

In the eyes of his wife, Holy, Munir is the figure of a man who was so impressive. Holy recalled, "He was a father for my children. He is very familiar because at certain moments he was bathing my son, to feed my child. Wake up, we do not immediately get up, but chatting in the bedroom. The children gathered in the room kept us joking. What he liked most was hugged from behind. Hugging his son, embraced his wife "(p. 128).Even not only that, at every holiday, Munir took his wife and his children watch, play loud music as he led the children and his wife were dancing.

The story of the Holy testimony above suggests that the figure of Munir's not just courage that we can only look up to, but also keharmonisannya in the family. Hopefully it can inspire both shoots Munir Munir-young in Indonesia.
